2017 Merlot

The 2017 Titus Merlot is another stunning bottling from the block we purchase at the Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard.  The aromas are generous with a beautiful bouquet of ripe strawberry, berry pie, toasted pie crust, dried cranberry, and potpourri.  As the wine glides through the palate it is open and rich with flavors of plum, dark cherry, Oolong tea, and spice.  Gentle tannins frame a smooth and round palate that has fresh acid and lingering notes of anise and hibiscus.  Enjoy through 2030.

Wine Profile

The 2017 Titus Merlot was harvested on September 11, 2017.  The Merlot is 100% from the Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard in Southern Napa.  After the fruit was recieved at the winery it was destemmed directly to tank where it was fermented for 14 days.  After fermentation the free run wine was drained from tank and racked to barrel.  This wine as aged in 55% new Hungarian Oak barrels for 20 months before being racked to tank for bottling.  This wine was racked quarterly during the first year.
